Sherry Todd – Middle School Science Teacher
I am a native to Dorchester County. I have been teaching Middle School Science for 9 years. The first four years were spent at Mace’s Lane Middle School, the rest of the time has been spent at South Dorchester School.
My credentials include a Bachelors Degree of Science and a Masters Degree in Reading. I am presently working on 30+ credits. (maybe even another Masters Degree.)
At South Dorchester School I am currently teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Science as well as First Grade Reading. I am also a part of the Yearbook Committee. In the past I have taught just about everything from 4th grade math to Elementary Art, to Keyboarding.
During the summer of 2006, I got married to my husband Adam. We have no children (yet!), but do have 2 beautiful dogs, a Jack Russell and a yellow Lab.
One of my most memorable teaching experiences occurred last year when I was nominated for teacher of the year. I felt very proud and honored because I was the only teacher who was represented that only taught 7 years, everyone else had taught 15 or more years. It was nice to be recognized so early in my career. I was also grateful for the recognition, because it was based on the students and staff vote. Therefore, I pledge to keep up the good work.
